About
Only one person knows the true origin of YBA Basketball. One man who should be credited as the "founder of YBA". Mike Miner is Mr. YBA himself. Mike officiated/played in a church league held at Hongwanji Mission School gym. Admiring the comaraderie and fellowship, he saw a need for for basketball taylored to basketball enthusiasts from different skill sets. From historical accounts, YBA crowned their first champions in 2001. In 2010, Mike left the islands for bigger opportunities on the mainland. Not wanting to see YBA to end, he entrusted the division to two of his basketball confidants. Fast forward to 2016, from our humble beginnings and a big "MAHALO" to Mike, we are proud to continue this tradition of basketball for all basketball aficianados in central Oahu and beyond.
